Jay
Forever Sketching Away
Hello! My name is Jay. I am 11 years old and have spent most of my life sketching. Drawing is my passion and, in my opinion, it is extremely fun. My family is made up of five people. Shannon [my youngest sister], Chelsea [my oldest sister], my dad [Jason], my mum [Caroline] and my stepdad [Kevin]. I am a member of a close family and I have the best family I could ever have in the entire universe. I love them to the moon and back.

I was born on 7th October 2015 in Basildon Hospital [somewhere in Essex], while my father, Jason, spent a lot of time behind the wheel – as a street racer –.

When I was a baby, my youngest sister would feed me, calm me and put music on –White Noise– until I fell asleep. According to my mum, I was an extremely lazy baby because all I did was sleep and eat [when I was asleep I was dead to the world and wouldn’t wake for anything at all]. The sweet air on my fragile skin was like a cold water bottle being placed on my soft, rosy cheeks shortly after being snatched from a chilly freezer. I still remember, after 11 long but fun years, gazing at my precious family members tightly crowding around me and spotting my mum for the first time ever. I was much loved.

When I was three years old my dad, sister, mum and I went to Somerset, where I cracked my head open for the first time and we had to leave early. On my 4th birthday, my family bought me some pencils. This was when I found out what I was good at. As I drew, the watercolours smudged across the page like an octopus’ ink spreading across the ocean, making me incredibly upset and frustrated. However, Shannon disliked this because it made a lot of mess and she was the one that had to tidy it up. Bad luck for her.

Eventually, my 10th birthday came, my parents and family were waiting for me to rush downstairs for a glass of water when… “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!” they bellowed. They explained that I would not have as many presents. However, they were very expensive. I got an IPad, an Xbox 360 and a large variety of grey and black pencils. Thin and thick, dark and light. I also got a lot of other things but, as my family are extremely generous, it would take a lot of time to list them all.

Unbelievably, I have been sketching for just over eight years. My dad says that, if I try hard enough [which I think I will], I may become an even better drawer, which is my life goal! My family are supporting me with all of my hobbies and will always be there for me. I will always be there for them. I have many more things to do in my life before it is over. Hopefully, I will achieve my targets. The big events are yet to come!
